OMMUNITY SERVICES DEPARTMENT is now recruiting for SELF-SUFFICIENCY COORDINATOR  for new Polk County services.  The duties of this job include recruitment to caseload of 12 -18 participants in Polk County, assisting jobseekers, developing goal plans, coaching and skill building for economic self-sufficiency, establishing IDA accounts, monitoring progress, and accurate reporting of results.  FT or PT. Computer savvy.  Related degree and case management experience.  Bilingual preferred.  A job description is available for review at both reception areas of WCCA offices in Brevard and Hendersonville, as well as www.wcca.net.  WCCA applications should be submitted to the Personnel Office in Hendersonville.  This is a non-exempt position on Grade 36 or not be below current wage.

The Head Start program in Hendersonville needs two part-time positions in Hendersonville that will begin in August.

The Health Assistant position will be 20 hours per week working less than 12 month per year.  It is a non-exempt position.  Grade 26 on the WCCA scale.

The Cook position will be working at Sugar Hill Head Start five hours a day working 9 ½ months per year.  This is a grade 27 on the WCCA scale.

Head Start /More at Four Teachers

Position requires four year (B-K) college or university degree in Birth-Kindergarten and hold current NC state certification in B-K.  Experienced Center Teachers with appropriate credentials and good job performance may also be considered who do not have their B-K certification, but are working toward that goal and are attaining at least 6-9 semester hours per year.  Staff will function as the lead teacher in the classroom blended with Head Start and More at Four students. 

These positions will start in August, 2008.  Send WCCA applications to Human Resources.  This may be grade 33, 35 or 37 (depending on education and if in a multi-classroom setting) on the WCCA scale.

Teaching Assistant III

Position requires employee assisting in the MAF/HS teacher not only in classroom activities, but also in home visits and uses creative child development techniques. A CDA, ECE Certificate, AA Degree or higher is required and one year’s experience in a child development setting is preferred.    These positions start in August, 2008.  Send WCCA applications to Human Resources.  This is a grade 25 on the WCCA scale.
