Western Carolina Community Action is seeking candidates for the position of Early Head Start Teacher. The purpose of this position is to plan, organize and implement a developmentally age-appropriate program for infant and toddler enrollees. Teachers are needed at Sugar Hill, Etowah and Columbus locations.
A Successful candidate must:
- Minimum education requirement of a CDA, an Associate’s Degree in early childhood education or Bachelor’s in early childhood education
- Experience in infant/toddler classroom is preferred
- Ability to establish bonds with children, adapting care-giving methods to meet students’ needs, culture and interest.
- Ability to visually supervise children and assess development
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Bilingual English/Spanish skills helpful.
- Ability to physically interact with young children and effectively communicate with parents.
